ISP FriendlyPando is working with ISPs to improve delivery performance and network efficiency
Pando Network Aware
Pando Networks has developed a proprietary algorithm to efficiently route traffic within ISP networks. Pando Network Aware (PNA) localizes content delivery within a last mile network to accelerate download speeds for end users and to lower operating costs for ISPs.
P4P
Pando Networks co-founded and co-chairs the P4P Working Group, whose mission is to work cooperatively with leading Internet service providers (ISPs), peer-to-peer (P2P) software distributors, and technology researchers to develop best practices for the use of P4P mechanisms. The goal is to accelerate distribution of content and optimize utilization of ISP network resources in order to provide the best possible performance to end-user customers.
What does P4P do?
P4P allows the P2P networks to optimize traffic within each ISP, which not only reduces the volume of data traversing the ISP’s infrastructure, but also creates a more manageable flow of data.
P4P Results
Pando has successfully deployed P4P with AT&T, Comcast, Telefonica and Verizon. Results showed significant reduction in external data transit volume. Within each network carrier, P4P decreased the distance data traveled for delivery to end users.
"The results have been phenomenal. Customer and network benefits were seen as soon as the test began. This new system... offers our FiOS customers P2P downloads up to six times faster than networks without the overlay."
